We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our growing Engineering Team. The successful candidate will not only have the opportunity to learn from a team of experienced engineers but also contribute to a collaborative environment with their knowledge and experience.

You will become a key member of an outstanding Structural Engineering group, whose primary functions cover low to medium density residential design, seismic assessment and strengthening, MOE structure alteration and assessment, commercial and low rise apartment design. Qualifications & experience

• Must be familiar with residential design in New Zealand

• Understand NZ standards such as NZS3604, NZS3603, NZS1170, NZS3101 and NZS3404

• Strong communication skills

• Bachelor of Engineering from New Zealand Universities (BE, BE tech or similar)

• Ability to work under pressure and good time management

• Min. 2 years local structural engineering experience

 

Tasks & responsibilities

• Managing and conducting structural design of residential, commercial and industrial buildings

• CAD drafting or markup drawings for various projects

• Liaison with Architect designers, clients and contractors

• Planning and documentation of full package for projects

• Site inspections and meeting

• Development of standard details and templates

• Ability to deliver projects within limited time and budget

• Invoicing of projects under your control

• Supervision of junior staff
